I’m Marjorie. I got serious with points when I lived in New York City and figured out how to supply the Floating Hospital with emergency diapers and formula for next to nothing. I’m back in Vancouver now, and I turned that talent to supporting my travel bug!
A ton of research! I track credit card welcome offers and bonuses, airline and hotel rewards programs, loyalty and consumer points programs, and anything else that gives us regular people an angle to save money. I put about 20 hours a week into staying current and spreading the word.
More than most people, but I have spectacular credit. I never spend beyond my means and I never carry a balance.
It’s no secret that the welcome offer is the big boost, so you might be tempted to open a fistful – but you still have to make the minimum spend, so you’ve got to have a strategy. If you only want one card, I can help choose the right one. If you want to multiply your earnings faster, I know exactly how to make the system work for you.
I have a day job! I do this because I made the time to learn and I know most people can’t. I earn a small commission from some of the cards I recommend but, and this is the important part, I only recommend the cards that work. Other sites bombard you, hoping something will stick. That’s not me.
My personalized consultation takes time, and I have to account for that time. Once we know I can help you, we’ll agree on a fair rate for me to get to work for you. I recently took my mom to Vietnam, we flew business class, and spent $1200, saving almost $20,000, so yes, I believe it is worth it!
I can say with confidence that if you’re only using your points for discounted groceries right now, I will blow your mind. I know that my household income and points system allow me and my family to take about three weeks vacation every year for free or nearly free. Do I think that’s typical? Put it this way: I’m not magic. Anybody can do this if they know how.
There’s no one best card that works for everyone. I wouldn’t recommend an American Express card to someone who only shops at Costco. Answer a few questions about lifestyle and travel goals and I can definitely help.
